The fiery rage of the elemental simmers down to a low boil instead as she turns towards Voltus and angrily explains:

"The guards are the least of your problems, if you haven't bothered to look around. There are things down in the depths of Shaarat that would give seasoned heroes pause, let alone a few knuckleheads like yourselves!"

The elemental then flows downwards towards the floor, reassembling herself in what appears to be a sitting posture, arms surrounding her legs, looking down. She sounds somewhat glum as she continues:

"Besides, you broke the vessel. Something's... off and I can't lift it up again."

As Voltus heads over to the side of the ship to deal with elemental ring he discovers that despite the elemental refusing to lift the ship, it is by no means inactive. When he tries to approach the elemental energy stabilization centers on the edge of the ship, a burst of fire flares up and prevents him from getting anywhere close. After a few attempts at this, the entirety of the ring begins to hum and a large burst of fire pours forth from the top half towards the deck of the ship in a tremendous gout of light and flame. Instead of setting the ship ablaze again, the fire moves around a bit in a controlled manner before coalescing in a small area into a person sized glob. The glob then shifts and warps, taking on the characteristics of a human woman, though the sound that comes out of its mouth still sounds as much a product of crackling embers as anything else resembling speech. Eventually the noise fine tunes itself to a recognizable:

"iiiiiiiiIdiots!"

"Pissy" was an understatement. The fact that Voltus was driving through a crowded environment and was under a decent amount of stress from the pair's arguing was not helping matters. So what started out as a relatively uncomfortable but manageable flight through the middle city rapidly turned into a madcap dash over and across the outside of the city, culminating with the ship spiraling out of control down into the Cogs. As the ship comes into contact with the ground in the pit that festers under Sharn, it shudders with a terrible violent thud and sends you all flying aftwards. Through some miracle you and the ship's overall structure remain unharmed. But the inside of the ship is a mess, most of the topside supplies flew overboard, and nearly all of the already dwindling support crew perished. Also the elemental doesn't seem to want to ignite again, so that's a problem.

Meanwhile, Triage finds himself faced with a room which appears to be something of a conventional set of bunking quarters for sailors... and in fact still resembles such. There appear to be a number of holes and scorch marks where the Cannith blasts got through but there appears to be no actual fires remaining down here. As you look into the next room over, you get the vague glimpse of a gnome standing over a red-yellow pool of some kind, but your view is quickly interrupted as everything goes sideways and you find yourself falling towards a corner of the room... before the ship rights itself again and gravity tosses you back the other way.

Faint feelings that weren't, or imposed knowledge of a sort, popped to the forefront of Doraad's mind. The notion that such a horse was probably just as dodgy as the building if not moreso. The rational review of this based on the cheapness of everything that had been involved only served to reinforce this. Still, beggars couldn't be choosers if they wanted to get this soda out without carrying it all the way back to Farley's and then the dorms by hand. With a plaintive gesture at the steed, Doraad asks the other students:

"Hmm, don't suppose anyone knows anything about horses?"

Through the various efforts of the group, the blaze does not appear to burn out of control. Though due to a lack of water and the size of some of these fires you are having some difficulty putting everything out. Which is why the suggestion of the human with the strange looking blade at his side appeared to make a great deal of sense. This lead the half elf actually flying the ship to make a hard turn on the wheel of wind and water that he had keyed to the vessel. Though hard turn was an understatement as people and ropes began flying everywhere. One or two of the crew even fell off the thing, and the speeds being generated had the mixed effect of putting out some fires and fanning other flames.

Eventually though, the ship sped its way through the skies of the middle Central Plateau towards a huge black cylindrical stone, hovering in midair and surrounded by 12 large vertical jets of water in a circular pattern. Quickly zooming through the water, the majority of fires were put out by the sheer abundance of the stuff. Unfortunately this also had the side effect of making the elemental ring shudder as it protested under the strain. A loud rasping noise similar to that made by steam can be heard coming from the floor below the main deck, though you'd swear you thought it sounded like a scream for a second there.

The ship wobbles for a few seconds before resuming its usual speed. Of course, there is still the problem that the group is piloting an airship without any regards to air traffic, at a relatively fast pace, through one of the nicer sections of Sharn. The immediate danger has passed though.

Yep, seems like the good fortune continues to roll. Doraad stands silently trying not to let his jaw drop to the floor as further "negotiations" take place. After gathering up a couple of cases of soda and adding them to the cart he comments:

"Didn't Farley already have his copy of the recipe? And promise to keep us fully stocked in any case?"

Even so, Doraad points over to his scholar's pack.

"That said, I have a copy of the recipe right here. All I need to do it add the 'dash of nutmeg' to the list and we're good to go."

"Prophecy of the Holy Norns
The world is doomed to die
Fire in the sky
The end is coming soon!"

It was supposed to be a simple job.

You were told by one of your usual contacts that a job of the utmost importance, or perhaps of the easiest nature, required your particular talents. Something about sneaking into the elemental airship construction facilities of House Cannith in Sharn and boarding a particular vessel. Smaller and sleeker than the surrounding ships, with a silver and white motif reflected throughout.

The vessel stuck out like a small glacier among more conventional trees of the forest. Unfortunately so did you - Perhaps you didn't have the proper identification and never intended on getting caught and having to show it. Those House Cannith guards can occasionally be canny, at least when it comes to unique pieces that would cost the house a pretty penny. Perhaps you never really cared, after all it wasn't like there was much that could get in your way when you put your mind to it. Perhaps you didn't have a plan and were simply guided by blind and unwavering faith that somehow you would find a way to get on board. Or perhaps for those most vaunted and respected members of society you were politely informed that even your high status was insufficient for proper clearance. And that you should leave. Immediately. Escorted by the polite gentlemen with swords.

No matter what your intended response, things quickly turned to chaos as it seemed like a number of individuals with similar plans had been caught at the same time. The guards found this suspicious and tried to take you into custody. They failed.

You were likely already in the middle of the facility when everything fell apart and it just so happened that your target ship was the closest point of escape. Figuring that you could kill two glidewings with one stone you boarded the ship and, with a little bit of trial and error, collaborated with your fellow conspir

Well that was a surprise. Doraad quickly mentally panicked at this new variable, all the while quickly and calmly responding to what was presumably the other Barley brother.

"Sounds like you are, sir. We're just here to check based upon an independent complaint. Mind telling us the whole story on what's going on here so we can have it for our records and assure that things are 'good' to go?"

"If you know how to make fire nonlethal, i'm all for it!" exclaims Doraad as he chucks another fireball off at one of the wounded wugs.

After steadying himself, Doraad takes a deep breath, careful aim, and makes another arcing motion towards one of the remaining bullywugs. This time he's rewarded with a much more potent firebolt. Hopefully good enough this time to justify not having to go back and practice basic exercises for another 5 hours again.
