Re: Beginnings Festival

(@DM I'm aware. She's a spoiled princess though. Gods forbid she ever enter the surface of the material plane.)

"No where I come from we don't have a blasted daystar blinding everyone." Annastrai snarked back.

Re: Beginnings Festival

Frances nodded and said "Thank you kindly." He said, "Oh really? Well, it is a pleasure to meet you. Mind if I ask your name?" He asked as he started working on a flashy sign that would catch peoples attention and read "Newcomers to Azer Hall." With an arrow pointing down, like it was going to be held up high.

The messy-haired human and the pixie behind t'Nee glance at each other, ignoring the extended hand, and the pixie barks out a laugh. "Ha! I was right!"
"You said bullywug."
"Grung is a subrace!"
The fey clears his throat. "So, Tiny. What is your view on the serious subject of pranks?"

Rrrranks, t'Nee begins, carefully stifling a ribbet on the sound, are verrry important to a successful and cultured society. My mother, forribbet instance, is a Gold caste, which makes herrr veribbety high rrranking. She's even met the Hopping Prophet himself, and he named her the first Grung Ambassador to Sigil!

He takes a moment to further compose himself. Speaking common is hard! He'd only learned it on the 5 month journey to Sigil from the Great Marsh of Greyhawk. Had he mis-heard the pixie? Why was he so interested in Grung ranks? Why was he even acknowledging such a lowly creature with a response? He takes a deep breath and continues.

Beneath her, there's the oranges and reds -- warriors and mages mostly, then the purples, who supervise the blues and greens, who do most of our skilled and unskilled labor. We're not a subrace, by the way, and we hate Bullywugs. Where did you think the word 'bully' came from?

He studies the back of his hand for a moment. I'm a teal, I suppose, which means I'm not very important. He croaks sadly. I suppose that's why I'm being dumped here with while my mom lives her fancy life.

He shifts his attention to the messy-haired human.

Anyway, how long have you owned this Pixie?

Re: Beginnings Festival

"Dart war?" asks Leo, taking the offered hand. "Back home the darts we worry about come from Poison Dusk blowguns. I can't imagine that's the kind you're talkin' about."

Re: Beginnings Festival

Nadine glances over at Annastrai and shrugs. "They sell sunglasses at the bookstore," she offered, then pulled a pair of goggles with a rear elastic strap out of her bag, and put them on. To Leo, she says, "Renf darts," she hands him one, a tiny foam stick about the size of a pinky finger. "Non-lethal combat simulation games. Cool people use Renf brand foam projectile launchers. Idiots use water guns." She pauses. "Nerds use pretend melee weapons and dress up in costumes."

The woman in the armor says to Frances. "I am Alecto, priestess of Nike, goddess of victory. And trained in peer counselling and basic first aid. Also magical healing, so the first aid is more of a back-up."

"HE DOESN'T OWN ME, YOU OVERGROWN TREE TOAD..."
The human swats the pixie to the ground. "We just met yesterday. But what Kel was asking about was 'pranks.' With a P. Like... funny jokes that involve humiliation or minor injury of others. That you can later put on YouScribe."

Re: Beginnings Festival

(I missed responding to Doen a couple of passes back. Sorry)

Robyn smiles. "I'm sure they'll be happy with any names you give them. They seem to like you." She gestures, and a couple of them drop down onto her shoulders. "Meanwhile, let's get you signed up for classes appropriate to your academic level. I've got a few squirrel-related suggestions." She starts scribbling some things down.

Re: Beginnings Festival

Leo briefly examines the dart before handing it back.

"Shootin' each other with soft darts for fun, huh? Not somethin' I woulda come up with but I can see it. An' you were settin' up some kinda showdown with that blue fella?"

It -- it has a name? YouScribe? Pranks? It would seem t'Nee has much to learn at this school. Why had this human allowed its Pixie a name? Why, perhaps more, had he denied ownership? Surely free pixies aren't a thing, even here.

Please, tell me more about these so-called Pee Ranks.

Re: Beginnings Festival

"Well.... Thank you.... Would you be able to tell me where the bookstore is?" Anna asked peering around for some hint.

Re: Beginnings Festival

Frances would nod and said "Glad to know, again, thank you." He said as he stepped out and said "Alright, now to put up part two." He said, lifting his hand and snapping his finger as a Mage Hand would form and grab the poster and lifted it up above both Frances and Doraad that said "Newcomers to Azer Hall." With an arrow pointing down to them.
