Re: Soda Shop on the Borderlands

The hubbub finally manages to get through to Doraad as he observes the rest of the group arguing with a pair of frog men. Well, bigger-frog men. Bigger than t'Nee, who was already larger than your standard frog. The planes certainly did seem to have an abundance of giant amphibians, and frankly Doraad wouldn't be surprised if there was an entire plane filled with them. The hobgoblin turned around from the still to face the intruders with the rest of his party.

"The sign said that a hermit used to live here. If you know where he is, we'd be happy to leave. In fact, you might want to come with us, to get some payback on him leaving signs around that bring adventurers right to your tree-step."

Re: Soda Shop on the Borderlands

"We certainly not bullywugs," one bullywug says. "Probably rakasta or nagpa or other native Mystara race."
"Anyway, bullywugs not tell where Hermit went, or Marley Barley."
"Right. Certainly they not at Hermit Pride factory down hill there."
The other bullywug facepalms.

Re: Soda Shop on the Borderlands

With that, Doraad attempted to convey a sense of dejectedness as he walked up to the two bullywugs and tried to convince them that their attempts have been a success.

"Well then. I guess we're at an impasse. You fine nagpa can stay here and enjoy your tree and we'll just have to head back were we came from, and certainly nowhere near the general vicinity of that awful factory."
Unfortunately, he wasn't quite able to keep himself from seeming oh so smug about it.

"Is good. Not the problem. We just go in nagpa tree now. On your way."

Re: Soda Shop on the Borderlands

See, nothing to worry about. Just like master Taenara always said: Magic is inextricably tied to the rest of the world. If you can project your will on the universe to form a Firebolt you can project it to get your way elsewhere. With that, Doraad gestures to the rest of his fellows and heads onwards...

To investigate that factory obviously. We're supposed to be the smart ones here.

t'Nee reluctantly allows the bullywugs to live and follows his fellow students down the hill.

Re: Soda Shop on the Borderlands

At the edge of the forest, where it joins a dismal swamp, you discover a two-story structure, surprisingly sizable, considering it looks like it was built in a couple of hours by untalented schoolchildren who found some tin sheet metal and two-by-fours lying around.

In front of the structure, six bullywugs in “Hermit’s Pride Security” jackets march –or hop, rather— back and forth in front of the main entrance, chanting “Bully-wug, uh-ugh” over and over.*

Hano frowns as she sizes up the bullywugs, estimating how fast they could move.
"Okay, I have an idea." She whispers. "I can run out and distract these six, then you all get into the building while they're distracted, then I run off and find a way in." It's probably not the best plan, but Hano really just wants to run and tussle.

t'Nee nods at Hano's plan, though he'd much prefer one that involved killing all of the bullywugs.

Doen gives a thumbs up to Hano's plan. "Wow! You can run that quick?  And you have such confidence that they won't catch you! That's awesome!"
