Re: Makin' My Way Downtown

"Pirates always get the best shanties."
Lorenzo drums along on a leg as he walks absentmindedly, before Jenn's question, which gets a light shrug.
"Only one way to find out - though I also have a newspaper.  Could list one someone wants to sell for cheap."
He taps his chin at a whole new train of thought from that.
"Huh...hey, there wouldn't happen to be Lost Episodes or the like, would there?  Could be a fun journey seeking some if there are."

Re: Makin' My Way Downtown

As Rae sang, Leo couldn't resist whipping out his guitar and trying to pick up the song.

Rolled a 14 to play along, I assume that's passable.

"Hanover Hellhound cartoons? Your home plane really does sound like a weird place, Jennifer."

Re: Makin' My Way Downtown

It's true, Dodgeful Artie agrees with Lorenzo. "Pirate shanties top mailman shanties any day.

"We got some letters we deliver to your door,
There's not enough postage so you gotta pay more
This one goes to McAllister Road
But I can't take it there 'cause there's no zip code."
The girl in the polka-dot dress kicks him before he can continue. Chi-Chi, meanwhile, laughs and claps.

Re: Makin' My Way Downtown

"I always liked this one."

And then he sings.

"Farewell and adieu, to you Cyran ladies,
Farewell and adieu, you ladies of Cyre,
For we've received orders
To sail for old Breland,
But we hope in a short time to see you again.

"We'll rant and we'll roar, like true Brelish sailors,
We'll rant and we'll roar across all the salt seas
Until we strike soundings

In the hilt of the Dagger
From Flint Keep to Sharn's port is thirty five leagues..."

He trails off, not sure if he should continue.

Re: Makin' My Way Downtown

Rae nods along to Unit's song, and hums along if she picks up the tune. When Unit finishes, she says, "Aye. Unit, that be a proper shanty!" she looks to Artie and agrees, "And, aye, these postal shanties be tiresome.  Do ye know this one?

"Whiskey is the life of man,
Whiskey, Johnny!
O, whiskey is the life of man,
Whiskey for my Johnny O!

O, I drink whiskey when I can
Whiskey, Johnny!
I drink it out from an old tin can,
Whiskey for my Johnny O!

Whiskey gave me a broken nose!
Whiskey, Johnny!
Whiskey made me pawn my clothes,
Whiskey for me Johnny O!"  She sings with gusto.

Jennifer looked at Leo like he had just said that he was a Miniature Giant Space Hamster. “You don’t have Hannover Hellhound in Q’barra? You poor thing, what did you even do for fun there?”

Re: Makin' My Way Downtown

Lorenzo nods along to Unit and Rae's singing as he looks to Jenn.
"To be fair, ain't got it in Xen'drik either, so that one might not be accessible to Eberron.  From how the Dean talked, we might be a bit cut off from most of the normal planes.  Speaking of which, what is Hell, anyway?  A material plane?"

"I know not what this Hell be either," Rae admits.  "I be thinkin' I've seen a Hellhound before though. Though the wizard that be summonin' it did not name it Hanover."

Re: Makin' My Way Downtown

The group makes it back to campus, drawing a few stares along the way, because even in Sigil, a group of people pushing corn in a wagon while singing sea shanties is an unusual sight.
"All delivered by yers truly and company, as requested," Artie says, bowing and holding his hat out, open end up. "An' in very tight order, I might add."
