She didn't really understand the idiom, but figured catch a coach was mostly if not entirely literal. "Have fun." She replied. "It was really nice to meet you." She smiled and offered a hand, deciding that this person was most likely male, given his lack of reaction to the guy in line.
They shook goodbye, and she went back to her seat on the wall, where she scribbled several quick notes about her new observations. Then she put the journal away. It was a beautiful day and she didn't want to waste it girl watching.
And she certainly wasn't going to waste it watching the guy in the strange hat! The occasional glance was maybe okay, but it was rude to stare. Still at a loss about what she should do, she finally undid her boots and dug into her backpack. It was the work of a few minutes to change into skates, and soon she was zooming along the pathways, passing people strolling with a good-natured smile to anyone that made eye contact.

Doen makes sure to wave at and say hi to every squirrel she sees in the tree tops and even stops or runs back should she miss one. She still find's Professor Robyn's clearing...eventually. "Hi, yes. I'm Doen Greener and I wanted to sign up for the druid courses. By the way, do the squirrels you have here all have names? I wanted to name them myself as I saw them, but I didn't want to rename them. I know the squirrels wouldn't mind having lots of names but it would be rude to the person that first named them. Oh, aslo, are you chaotic evil? Mialee said to avoid signing up under the chaotic evil teachers and she's nice and friendly so I trust her on that."

The Drow picks up a clipboard, frowns. Then she glances across the greenway and yells, "Hey, Maddie! Do you know where BBEG is set up!?"
"Up yours, Dora!" the Drow cheerleader shouts back.
"Screw you, too!"
"They've got a tent next to the library! Three down from the McJester's booth!"
"Thanks, bitch!"
"Lunch?"
"Yeah! My shift's almost up!" She looks back at 001. "Just head to the clocktower, and look for the booth three down from the angry clown selling hamburgers."
A booth over, Mialee giggles. "I'm from a small town reallllly close to the Valley of the Mages. In the Flaeness," she clarifies. "Um, Oerth. It's like, rilly close to the Valley elves, but I'm not, y'know, some flaky V.E. fer sure." Behind Leo, young dwarf sighs and drums his fingers on his arm.
"No," Robyn smiles, "I'm not chaotic evil. And I can't say for sure if all the squirrels have names. I'm sure many of them do, though. Lots of young druids here, and many of them like spending time in the Grove, visiting the animals."

Silgon, looks at the packet given to him and sees his Dorm and room number. He decides to unpack his meager belongings first then return to the open area after. He begins jogging in that direction...gotta stay in shape, or the masters would be disappointed.

"I'd like to think it'd stay that way but apparently there's a bit of dread floating around in the knowledge that classes are going to eventually start." With that, Doraad scoffs a bit. "Gee, you'd almost think we're in a place of learning or something."
With Frances giving the hobgoblin the courtesy of providing a name, he feels it only fair to return the favor. "Doraad. And I think i'll take you up on that offer, unless you'd rather wait for somebody else to show up..."
Doraad put his hand on his chin and thought about the idea seriously for a minute.
"Although if we were going to do that, probably useful to make a sign to catch people's attention. Something listing the dorm name in Common."

"Oh hey!" The girl on wheels rolled past Rae, but spun almost in place and wheeled back, "Hi!" She looked at the oddly birdlike person, and the chest, and the pirate hat. "Little far from the nearest port, ain't ya?" She asked. Marty's oldest brother was in the Karameikos navy. He hadn't been home much in the last dozen years or so, but made the visit often enough that Marty absorbed some nautical lore from the brother he admired greatly.

"Sounds like a nice place. It's pretty much all jungle and swamp back in Q'barra, with lizardfolk instead a' pretty elves."
Leo hears the sigh behind him and winces inwardly. First day here and he was being rude to strangers...
"Well I could chat with you all day Mialee, but that wouldn't be fair to the other folk in line. I oughta mosey on. 'Course, if you're free later..."

Jennifer was enjoying her pizza, but she really just couldn't muster much courage to talk to anyone. She didn't like to think of herself as shy, but everyone here just seemed like they were busy with their own things and she didn't want to barge in. As she finished the pizza she decided that maybe she could join some clubs. Most of them after all were advertising out here today.
The cheerleaders certainly seemed to be out in force, but admittedly they sort of intimidated her. Especially the drow. She knew that dark elf racism was bad, but Drow worshiped demons, and spiders, both of which were very icky. No she would look for something which was much more safely lawful for now, and her eyes lit up when she caught sight of a table marked "Young Asmodeans" she hesitated for a moment. This was her opportunity to do something different for once, was she really going to just look for more people like back home? All the same, they would still be new friends, and it sounded like it might be better to edge out of her comfort zone rather than diving headfirst, like a sulfur spring.
She took a breath before approaching the booth. "Ah, Hi. You guys are Asmodeans, then?"
