Re: Beginnings Festival

Leo tipped his hat to Marty as she left. There sure were a lot of interesting womenfolk at this school..

Pondering the mysteries of the fairer sex, Leo began to idly strum at his guitar as he wandered the festival, seeing what he could see.

Re: Beginnings Festival

After carefully accepting his packet without touching the honey-haired woman, t'Nee thanks her, turns around, casually sits on the edge of the table, and addresses the two bickering about what sort of frog folk he is.

I am Grung! he croaks proudly. Grippli are far too skittish around other races to attend boarding school, Bullywugs are froaking toads, and as you can plainly see, I've got too many fingers and toes to be a Mogogol. My name is t'Nee, pleased to meet you, he says, extending his hand. If either heckler chooses to shake his hand, they must make a DC 12 CON save or become Poisoned for 1 minute.

Either way, he continues to sit on the edge of the table and begins to read his welcome packet.

Re: Beginnings Festival

The winged elf looks at Frances. "Ah. Well, Okay." She returns her poster board to her purse of holding and wanders off. "Hey!" she yells at somebody and nearly takes flight. "You can't just throw that there! Litter destroys the ecosystem... what there is of it!"

The messy-haired human and the pixie behind t'Nee glance at each other, ignoring the extended hand, and the pixie barks out a laugh. "Ha! I was right!"
"You said bullywug."
"Grung is a subrace!"
The fey clears his throat. "So, Tiny. What is your view on the serious subject of pranks?"

As Leo wanders, he overhears an argument in the grass between a brunette human, hair tied back in a ponytail, and a tightly-muscled... male person with blue-green (or possibly green-blue) skin and slightly finned ears. "...but this year, I'm setting records you won't even see from where you're placing."
"Bring it, water boy!" She makes 'come at me' gestures with both hands.
"I'm bringing it. Fourth green of the golf course. Tomorrow."
"There. Bring some back-up."
She smiles as he turns to leave, whipping a small orange and blue gun from her hip and popping a few foam darts at the back of his head as he leaves. He flips her off.

Re: Beginnings Festival

Annastrai finally started rushing through to the campus.

Gods. When I was a kid, we didn't start till 8-o-clock PM. We had to get all our learning done in three hours. These kids don't know how lucky they have it!

She started as she looked around, the pretty princess trying to discern what she saw in the blinding daystar.

Re: Beginnings Festival

Leo comes to a stop, his playing halting abruptly.

"Uh... what's all that about," he asks the girl.

Re: Beginnings Festival

"I overslept because I'm used to class starting at a sane hour!" The drow lady piped up.

Re: Beginnings Festival

"Wai-hey hold-" However the winged elf flew away as Frances would hum a bit and would look around. "Okay then...Back to plan A." He said. "I'll ask the folks in the tent." He said.

Walking back into the tent Frances said "Hello again, Valiant Warrior. I have a question, is there a spare poster paper and markers around? Me and another student wishes to help some other new comers find their way to the dorms so non get lost." He said.

"Yes. Well," the representative at the BBEG table said. "I'm Rodney Bargle," a couple of people walking past the table ran into each other, and immediately started walking the other way. A couple of people standing in line at the lacrosse team sign-up nearby clear their throats and walk away. A half-elf girl drops the drink she was carrying and scampers off in another direction. "And I really don't care about threats from freshmen. Half our fathers are faculty here. And some of them actually do things besides loom around in the backstory being intimidating."
"Um," the man in the black cloak takes the pencil and clipboard gingerly from Rodney and hands it to 001. "What Rodney means is, you definitely meet our qualifications. Why don't you sign up and we'll present your name to our selections committee?"

Oh if only he could smirk.  "You felt threatened?"  He takes the clipboard and sketches out the bar code that is his signature.  "Thank you.  I will be taking residence in Azer Dorm while you deliberate."  He departs, leaving his brother to whatever it was he had interrupted.  I hope they clean that pen...

Re: Beginnings Festival

"Reasonable hour?" Leo scratched his chin. "They not work on a normal day/night cycle where you come from, miss?"

Re: Beginnings Festival

(@Illven: Sigil is built on the interior of a massive ring, and is lit by an ambient and uncertain light source. There isn't a day star, per se. At its brightest, the city is a bit bright for a Drow, but not cripplingly)

The girl with the dart gun puts it away as Leo speaks. The Drow newcomer apparently arrives at the same time. "Howdy, Cowboy," the dart girl says. "Subar and me got a thing going. He doesn't know how to dart war properly 'cause he keeps using a water gun like it's fifty years ago. Nadine Renfro," she extends a hand.

The woman in the gleaming armor nods. "Of course," she says, handing Frances the poster board. "Azer, you say? I'm the Resident Assistant of the fourth floor."
