"Shhh," the gargoyle says. "I'm a inanimate object, jus' like them other three." It opens one eye, then closes it. "I mean..." It is stone silent.
The gravel bits do seem to be consistent with the chips in its wing.

"Do it hurt, matey?" Rae asks caressing the wing. "Can we be helping ye? We will if ye need it... But we be needin' the booty ye plundered from th' pizza merchant."

"Well if that don't beat all," says Leo, "fella, did you just replace the decoration up here or are you employed by the church? 'Cause I imagine you'd make a good watchman for the place."

Marty looked sidelong at Leo. Wow. Not only good-looking, but charming. And smart. And focused. And really good-looking. She could totally understand what all the fuss was about, with all the girls that oohed and awed and threw themselves at him and everything. She really did get it. Only, Rae was saying she was one of those girls, and that was totally wrong. She was only getting out of this fix, and that would only get more complicated if she had a boyfriend. Not that she wanted a boyfriend even if she was staying how she was. But Leo was really impressive in ways that had nothing to do with his looks.
And she totally got why girls responded to that. Just not her, despite what some flighty rogues might think.

The priest narrows his eyes. "I certainly did not hire a living gargoyle. I paid a considerable some for expert craftsmanship."
The gargoyle opens an eye then closes it quickly.
Glancing over the side, Leo sees a pile of rubble on the other side of the fence separating the church from the lot next door.

Rae pats the gargoyle on the shoulder. "Matey, ye not be runnin' no rig, here. I see ye. Just talk t' me. I be yer friend."

Frances would look over to the rubble as well and then back to the gargoyle...or what looked like one as he folded his arms "Hm...might not be as complex as we might be thinking." He said with a chuckle as he walked closer to the 'gargoyle' and said "You did a fairly good job at mimicking regular stone there pal." He said, putting a heavy emphasis on mimicking. Frances believes they just stumbled upon a Mimic.

Leo whistled at the rubble. "That does look expensive. So uh, you just been hidin' out here since ya knocked over Odo's, or..." 20 Persuasion

"Would you all just... shhhh!" the gargoyle says through gritted teeth. "The Goblinettis ain't gonna be happy if I blow this... shit. I mean... the gargoyle... yetis... the..." He closes his eyes again and remains stock still.

"The Goblinettis? Why would the local crime family have you rob Odo's? They must have some kinda arrangement there, the place is an institution."
