Re: A (pizza) slice of life

Rae looks up at the church as the group returns back the way they came.  She tries to continue to press them forward, without being too pushy... but being pushy.  "I be certain Odo be wantin' to hear what we learned... but we did promise to be leavin' the gargoyle's name... whate'er that be... out of it."

Re: A (pizza) slice of life

When the group returns to Odo's, business seems to have gotten back to normal. The vrock and modron repair crew are eating pizza in a back table, and several students are sitting around chatting, including RC who the DM forgot had tagged along, but that's okay because now RC is having pizza with Nadine the Nerf Renf Girl and Subar the Water Gun Genasi.

"Six for Gehenna!" the orc yells, setting pizzas on a counter, and a ninja appears just long enough to grab them, and is gone.

Re: A (pizza) slice of life

Marty watches the ninja with interest.  With a hooded mask and a black outfit, she thought she could pull that off.  She wondered what Odo paid his delivery people.

"Hey Odo,"  She approached.   "That was a great calzone you made.  Say, those delivery guys - do they work directly for you, or is your deal with their leader?"

Re: A (pizza) slice of life

Rae is the last to enter, looking up at the sky one last time before shutting the door behind her.  She walks in, looking a bit more relieved.  "Ahoy, Nadine. Ahoy, Subar. Ahoy, RC!" she greets.

She walks up to the Orc, next to Marty, listening as Marty inquires about a job.

Re: A (pizza) slice of life

Leo gets right to the point.

"So a gargoyle knocked your place over, on behalf of the Goblinettis. They're gonna come by with a 'protection' offer. You want us ta wait around and help show 'em the door when they do?"

Re: A (pizza) slice of life

The orc's brow narrows at Marty's greeting. "My name ain't Odo," he growls. "The place's name is Odo's. I tell you kids a hunnert times a day, my name is..."
"Hey, boss," Tracey interrupts, "the Modrons want their toppings to be symmetrical from all angles."
"Oh, for the..." He slams a tray and some dough on the counter. "Tell 'em to arrange it themselves an' I'll put it in th' damn over for 'em."
"Anyway, what was you kids sayin'?" He listens to Leo and nods. "Goblinettis, huh? They must got somethin' planned, since the place is under the protection of Clun Bunden Pittsuo." He cracks his knuckles.

Nadine and company wave at Rae as she greets them.

"Where was this clan when the place was bein' robbed, then? That's awful suspicious. Might be the Goblinettis already did somethin'."

Re: A (pizza) slice of life

Rae looks down briefly when Leo blurts out about the gargoyle...but he didn't exactly point out the exact gargoyle. When all was said and done about the break in, however, she still had to consider that the Legion of Dusk had a foothold in sigil. She'd heard people talking about the Lady of Pain, and how she protected the city...but no one knew about the relentless nature of the Legion. If they were here, they were looking for something. Since they lost out on the Immortal sun... What did they want here? And how was Bucky involved?

Re: A (pizza) slice of life

Marty opened her mouth to ask about the ninjas again, but then decided it wasn't worth it.  "A gang war?"  She asked.  "This close to campus?  Just how safe is this school?"

Re: A (pizza) slice of life

"They ain't here all the time," the orc says. "An' there were a lot of out of town orders that night. Whole clan was busy. But protection rackets is a long term thing. Kinacho ain't gotta be here when the threats are made; he'll take care o' things when he gets back."

Answering Marty, Nadine says, "Safe as an adventuring school can be. Keeping in mind that the senior faculty is composed of the most renowned and powerful adventurers from the Core Worlds."
