'Course I didn't do any a' that and I think I got a date with one of the gals was runnin' registration today, but she asked me."

"You got a date?" Marty was... relieved was what she wanted to feel. After all, if Leo was dating someone else she didn't have to worry that he might like her. Only... what she was feeling didn't seem much like relief. "Cool." That last word might not have rang all that sincerely.
She kicked off and rolled through the portal before he could answer, though she didn't move far from it once she crossed.

Jennifer giggled slightly over Marty's apparent confusion. She wasn't entirely sure that the football players were her type, preferring more of the mysterious good boy types like Edmund in her Dawn Knight books, but given this was the closest she had ever gotten to real life romance, she couldn't help but try and play match-maker a little.
"He's just being assertive, silly," she said as she sidled up to Marty. "Guys do it all the time." not mentioning that her sample size was made almost entirely up of romance novel characters. "The best part is when you go into it assuming he's a jerk, but then once you spend enough time with him you realize he just has a sensitive heart that you can bring out and turn him into a perfect boyfriend."

Leo offered a shrug and a half-grin as he headed through the portal.
"Never really thought a' myself as a 'ladies man', I think Miss Mialee is just a gal who knows what she likes."

What girl wouldnt. Maki replies trying to hide a grin.

Marty had to agree with Maki's assessment.
"Well, I'm happy for you." She told Leo. Hopefully without a pout. She was sure she wasn't pouting. She wished there was a mirror.
"So... bookstore!"
