Re: Into the Bookstore of the Drow

Marty stopped at the cave entrance.  "How level do you think the floor is in there?"  It didn't look likely to be level at all.  She drew her rapier!

"Here there be spiders!"  She hoped they were little ones.

Re: Into the Bookstore of the Drow

"Mournland, really? Dang, I didn't think anything came out of that place that weren't horrible murderous."

Leo unslung and loaded his crossbow as they headed for the cave, just in case.

Re: Into the Bookstore of the Drow

Immediately, a contingent of Drow guards stands between Unit and the door. "In accordance with intercollegiate agreements, you may walk our grounds unmolested, but you are still subject to all rules and regulations regarding Tier Breche behavior and non-Drow etiquette."

"You're right."

Unit stops, looking over the drow.  A slight trace of crimson energy coils around his fingers for just a moment before vanishing.  "Very well.  Next time, perhaps show more deference when addressing your betters."

Re: Into the Bookstore of the Drow

Holding her rapier as she idly spun the wheels of her right skate by striking it over and over against the floor, Marty watched the scene play out near the other door.  "So...  do we back him up if he needs it?"  She didn't much care for the prospect.  But cared less for running out on a comrade.

Re: Into the Bookstore of the Drow

"Oh!" Jennifer spoke up when they mentioned light. "Sorry I forgot not everyone has dark vision. I can do something."

She rose her arms in a quick sign of the Ninth before clenching her eyes and whispering. "Dear lord Asmodeus, I know we're kind of breaking rules by being here, but we're kind of opposing vile servants of the Abyss as well so I hope you don't get too angry. Anyway my friends need help seeing so could you spare some of your hellfire for that? Thank you."
"Nos nihil ante vos"
she added at the end, as was customary to conclude a prayer to Asmodeus.

After but a moment, Jennifer's mace was shrouded in a deep crimson flame that produced only a slight bit of hell's heat. She held out the mace like a torch.

"Will this work for everybody?"
